Craving travel!

After a year of on and off lock down I have to admit that I'm itching to travel again. I find visiting different places and countries so inspiring, every place has a unique culture, vibe and set of colours. I wanted to post about some of my favourite places I've been and why I liked them, as I find they influence a lot of my creative work. I can't wait until we can travel again and I can continue to explore the world. In the meantime I'm thinking of creating some travel inspired screen prints.

Street art on building in Staten Island

1 New York, USA

I love the creativity and vibrance of this city. There's always something going on from amazing street art to pop up music. You really feel the energy of the city when you are there. The food is amazing too! I could see myself living there, as in a way it reminds me a lot of London.

2 Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon old town street with tramlines

What I really loved about Lisbon is its mix of old and new. The old part of the city is just beautiful with castles and towers with trams running down the streets.I really liked the mixture of pattern and pastel shades that run throughout this city.

3 Marrakesh, Morroco

The energy in Marrakesh is crazy, there's so much going on! One of my favourite places I visited was the fabric souk, where they die fabrics with coloured powder, it's by far the most colourful place I've ever been.

4 Rome, Italy

Whilst in Rome I did a tour of Vatican City. The Roman architecture was just incredible. I loves seeing the art in Vatican city and of course the famous Sistine Chapel ceiling by Michelangelo. The intricate details in the art and the size of the pieces are mind-blowing.

5 Komodo National Park, Indonesia

This place was just breathtaking and like nowhere I'd ever been before. Incredible views, rare wildlife and pink beaches - it really felt like another world. I found it made me appreciate how amazing our planet is and it's incredible colour palette in all its natural untouched beauty.
