Enhancing Sales and Appeal through Design Leadership
Challenge
As Acting Art Director for House Beautiful, tasked with boosting sales, my goal was to revitalise the magazine's design and oversee the issue's entire production process in the Creative Director's absence.
Solution
Collaborating closely with the style department, my team directed imagery to reflect modern living and accessible style, aiming to attract a broader, particularly younger, audience. Introducing new fonts, styles, and graphics injected fresh energy into the magazine, ensuring its relevance and appeal.
Result
The February 2021 issue achieved remarkable success, becoming the best-selling in two years. Under my creative leadership, it generated a 66% increase in sales compared to the previous year, yielding an additional £30k in revenue and surpassing competitor titles.
