Organising and Shooting an International Shoot
Weight watchers Germany

Challenge

Tasked with orchestrating and directing the quarterly location shoot for the revamped magazine, I faced the challenge of executing two distinct photo sessions in one day, due to budget constraints. Each session required capturing multiple cover options, a four-page weight-loss narrative, and an independent fashion feature.

Solution

To meet this challenge, I sought a spacious and versatile location in Hamburg capable of embodying both winter and spring aesthetics. Collaborating closely with German editors, I assembled a local team of English-speaking hair, makeup, and stylist professionals. Crafting a mood board for client and agency approval ensured alignment with brand values and guidelines. Emphasis was placed on capturing models in a friendly, relatable manner, with attire and grooming enhancing their natural beauty.

The outcome exceeded expectations, with the localised shoots resonating well with the client and driving increased newsstand sales. Subsequent photography sessions were seamlessly executed in German locales with a local team, leading to a contract renewal with Weight Watchers Germany.
