Watchmaking Immersive Cube

Crafting an In-Store Experience in Nagoya

Challenge

This project was rewarded to us as a result of the Daytona Immersive project, where we were also asked to create a video adaption of the watchmaking TVC for the space. This was my wildcard option from that brief, which was presented alongside the adaptations for the TVC. The client loved my concept so much that they asked this to go forward as an extra project. As per the Daytona Immersive project, the space is a 5m high immersive cube within the Rolex store in Nagoya, Japan.

Solution

Working with producers and video editors from Gramercy Park Studios to bring the storyboard to life. After presenting, the first round the client feedback was to add a beginning and end to the video, to add to the storytelling of the watchmaking process. Later down the line, it was decided that would split the content into two separate films that would run at different times of the year to add variety. I worked with an After Effects specialist to smooth out the zoom effect and give the video a luxury finish.

Result

The first video will go live in the Nagoya store in May 2024, with the second video going live in November. This was an additional project to our agency’s scope which resulted in extra work and income and demonstrated our capabilities to Rolex. Shortly after we delivered this work, we was presented with another immersive brief to work on.
